Everything about Pot Noodle totally explained

Pot Noodle is a brand of ramen-style instant noodle snack foods. Its dehydrated mixture consists of wide noodles, textured soya pieces, assorted dried vegetables and flavouring powder. Each pot is also packaged with a sachet of sauce, such as soy sauce. Pot Noodles are packaged in plastic cups, and come in a wide selection of flavours and varieties. They are prepared with boiling water, which loosens the noodles and dissolves the powdered sauce.

History

The idea was originally developed by Momofuku Ando as Cup Noodle. In 1977, the Pot Noodle was developed by Golden Wonder in Japan, before being launched in the United Kingdom in 1979. The brand is now owned by Unilever.
The product is manufactured in Crumlin, Caerphilly, Wales, which has become the topic of recent advertising campaigns, showing fictitious Pot Noodle mines in Wales. The factory typically produces 155 million pots annually.
